Blessington U11B 3 – Tymon Bawn 0

There was deja vu  about this game as last year Blessington clinch the title against Tymon and Saturdays affair was the same, Blesso now have 2 games left and once results are posted will be on 69, Blesso on Saturday started to show why they are top of the league with totally convincing win against a spirited Tymon side, who just could not get out of their half from start to finish..

The game started off nervy enough with Blessington finding it hard to get into the stride, but once the break through came the Blesso team settled and started to play some lovely football. Ryan Mulvey had a snap shot saved well by the Tymon Keeper and Cian McCarthy was extremely unlucky with a brilliant half volley again thwarted by the impressive Tymon Keeper, Daragh Broe Foster then had a shot on the edge of the box again the keeper came to Tymons rescue, but you could sense the goal and so could Tymon as the got deeper and deeper in the own half, little Daragh Gilroy playing on the wing today picked the ball up in the middle of their half took on two defenders and beat both with pace and no little skill he drove a lovely shot low and hard into the net, it was a brilliant individual effort. ( H/T 1-0)

The second half was frantic with Blesso swarming all over Tymon and only for the goal keeper,Blesso would have been out of site, Ryan Mulvey was unlucky with a header just by the post, when he met a corner from Adams full on from about six yards out, Tadgh Miley then drove a shot into the side net when fed through by the impressive Tadgh Barrett, but he was to make amends straight after this when he jinked into the box and fired a wicked shot past the keeper (2-0) chances kept falling Blesso’s way but the Tymon defense stood firm.Yanni Cabalum was unlucky when he failed to connect to a Daragh Broe Foster cross and then the little winger had a great shot saved again by the Tymon keeper, but we did not have long to wait till the the third and again this was a cracker, Daragh swung in a brilliant corner and Adams rose highest to fire a header past the outstretched keeper, Ryan Keogh then was unlucky when he fired a shot from just outside the box only to see it blocked on the line. In the end three was enough and Tymon offered little in attack as the forwards were met with a well organized Blesso defense marshalled by Tadgh Barrett, Conor Gilroy and Don Halpen were immense at the back to along with Eoin Kavanagh, (F/T 3-0)

This is only the  U11’s second year together and since forming from the academy the have won a cup final and two leagues, and now will go  up another league, Well done guys on another absolutely Brilliant season

  1. Sometimes myself and Tommy forget how good you lads are. not for the first time this season the opposition manager has said how much he enjoyed watching the boys playing on Saturday the ref did the same. we are all extremely proud of your achievement over the last 2 Seasons and can’t wait to take the next step forward together. a quick word on the opposition on Saturday they are a credit to the League
And the ref was again superb
