U8 League Cup Blessington V Ardmore Rovers

The first game of the new season turned out to be a steep learning curve for this year’s new crop of Blessington players. It was a difficult introduction to competitive football against a team that had already had a season under their belts at under 8 level. Despite battling hard in defence and putting in a great deal of effort Blessington went in 0-2 down at half time. The 2nd half saw much of the same with Ardmore clearly more experienced in competitive football but Blessington fought hard and never gave up the fight. The match ended 0-5 but the scoreline didn’t reflect the effort put in by the team on the day. We’ll take the positives and focus on the improving for the next match. There’s lots of work to do but this team has some smashing footballers and great potential. Onwards and upwards!!!

Blessington Team: Back Row L-R  Shane O’Connor. Jack McManus. Patrick Foley. Bobby Gray. Emily O’Toole  Matthew Callinan. Front Row. Zach Power. Billy Moore. Jack Hardy. Aidan King.

  1. Great post John and great picture.
Sounds like a tough introduction for our future stars but I’m sure they will get to grips with it.
