Blesso found themselves on the road again this weekend with a trip out to Lucan to meet Beechpark, and from the off this result was never in doubt with Blessington swarming all over Beechpark , the only question was going to be by how many goals the result would end up,
Blessington first real effort was fell to man of the match Ryan Mulvey, who shot just passed the post from just inside the six yard box after some neat play with Patrick Cunningham.Tadgh Miley and Adams Ogbannayo both had efforts saved by the Beechpark keeper who in fairness kept the score down with some fantastic one on one saves throughout the game. Blessington kept piling on the pressure from which the opening goal came, Daragh Broe Foster was fed through by the industrious Daragh Gilroy and he swung in a wicked ball into he box, just before the goal keeper could scoop up the ball the defender stuck out his foot and turned it into his own net (0-1). Soon afterwards Blessington were two up when Tadgh Miley drilled a low shot into the net after some neat play by the midfielder taken on two defenders in the build up to the shot, (0-2). Ryan Mulvey made it three when he turned a Daragh Broe Foster cross into the net with a neat half volley (0-3), unfortunately for Beechpark, Blessington could sense blood and wave after wave of attacks fell on the Beechpark goal, Tadgh Miley made it four when he was put through by Ryan keogh, coolly slotted home his second of the game and Blesso’s fourth (0-4). Chris Murphy got in on the act after a lovely corner from Daragh was not dealt with, the defender turned brilliantly and drilled home his first goal for the club. (0-5). Patrick Cunningham completed the first half rout with a fantastic individual goal when he swept past two defenders and unleashed a fierce shot high into the roof of the net (0-6).
Blessington made a few changes in the second half and it took them a bit of time to get going again, during this period Beechpark showed some real endeavor and got their rewards when a neat ball was slid in behind the Blesso defense, their little striker broke clean through and hit a great shot past the diving Ian Coughlan (1-6). But that was really that from Beechpark as Blessington regained their grip on the game and piled on more pressure on the already over worked Beechpark keeper, in a five minute period he thwarted Daragh Broe Foster attempts, with one great save at the Blesso wingers feet and another fine stop when the little winger went clean through. But there was to be no denying Daragh next attempt when he slid the ball past the defender and fired low past the keeper from just inside the box (1-7) Ryan Mulvey then made it eight, with a fantastic half volley from edge of the box after a bit of a melee in the Beechpark defense (1-8) and Tadgh Miley came back on to complete his hat trick with a surging run down the wing, he cut inside and from a narrow angle he blasted by the keeper to make in nine (1-9). The rout was complete near the end when Daragh Broe Foster got his second of the game, with a similar effort to his first, he jinked by the keeper and fired home a neat shot again from just inside the box (1-10).
Blessington showed real drive and commitment and even when comfortably in front they never lost focus or shape and made it very difficult for Beechpark to get out of their own half, Well Done guys.
