Blessington U14s put in Gr8t performance

Blessington 14s 8 Lakelands 3 .

Our season finally got up and running on a cold and blustery morning at Crosschapel. In a exciting first half it was honors even with both team scoring twice in the space of twenty minutes. Blesso took the lead thanks to our little Messi (Dara Broe Foster) who is proving a handful for opposing teams this season. Lakelands didn’t sit back and pressed well for a deserved equalizer, then Ryan Mulvey made a rare mistake in goal for Blesso when trying to clear a back pass that found a Lakeland player who scored with a fine shot. Within a minute Blesso had made  it 2-2 thanks to a solo effort from Tadgh Miley . Half time 2-2 . In recent weeks Blesso lads have been found wanting but not today, they took the game to Lakelands and you could see the confidence shine. The fact was that in the space of 35 minutes we played as a team. A brace from Adams and Sean a first from Craig and a superb run from Dara was the scoring statistics but only a small part of the story. From Ryan in goal who’s kicking was a joy to behold (2 assists) the defending was more solid with Iain and Aidan at the center finding a good outlet for midfield. Jack and Timmy along with Stephen Ryan and Patrick took hold and mopped up any loose ball. As coaches we love when the lads show us how good they can work and our last goal was team work of the highest order. In the space of 20 seconds and six passes the ball was in the Lakelands net. Ryan to Alex to Iain back to Alex to Timmy to Dara drilled across for Sean Oh yes .This team has a way to go but with the attitude and team spirit I’m betting we can go forward together.

Up The Blesso.

BFC Last Man Standing Competition is now open for entry

Hi All

Blessington AFC have teamed up with runlastman.com to bring a competition now that is open to all, just sign up and be part of BFC LMS, as long as you are over 18 you can play this competition from anywhere.

Thanks BFC Admin

The Rules

Let’s run through an example. John picks Chelsea to beat Spurs. If Chelsea win he goes through, but he won’t be able to pick Chelsea again. Peter picks Villa to beat Arsenal, but it’s a draw so Peter is out. The competition continues until everyone goes out and the pot is split between the last remaining entrants, or 1 person remains — The “Last Man Standing”

Here are the rules:

  1. Pay your entry fee at week 1 — no need to pay again. Some of the fee goes to support the club or charity running the competition, and the rest goes into the pot to be won.
  2. Each week, simply pick a team playing a match that week – if your team wins, you go through, lose or draw and you’re out.
  3. You can only pick a team to win once in a competition, so be tactical about who you pick and when.
  4. All selections must be in 1 hour before kick off of the first match — you can change your pick up to this deadline.
  5. Rounds of fixtures may take place on weekends or mid-week.
  6. If your team’s game is postponed you are automatically put through to the next round.
  7. If you forget to pick a team, we’ll randomly pick one for you for that round.
  8. Last Man continues until only one person remains and wins the pot. If two participants remain at the end, the pot is equally distributed; however, if more than two remain everyone goes through to the next round. If all remaining players lose in the last round, they all go through to the next round.

How do I join a competition?

  1. Sign in or register
New to RunLastMan.com? Click “Join Competition” on the competition page you’re interested in. If you already have a RunLastMan account, you can sign in here.
  2. Scroll down and pick your team
Scroll down to the list of fixtures and click on the ONE team you want to win in week 1. Click “Confirm” to submit your selection.
  3. Click “Confirm” once you’ve made your pick for each round.

You can continue making selections for the following weeks before it all starts if you like. Otherwise you can make your next selection any time before the next game.

  4. Pay your entry fee for this competition Visa and Mastercard logos
  5. Share your pick with friends on Facebook— the more players in, the higher the prize pot.
  6. Log in each week to pick the next team you want to win.
