Blessington U9s provide mascots at UCD v Shelbourne game

UCD ask a local team to provide mascots for all their home games. Clubs normally bring two of their own teams but the manager of Belmont thought it would be a good idea to invite another club to join them. Hence the call to U9s. both teams met before the game outside the Belfield Bowl on the UCD campus. All the parents took their seats while the players lined up outside the changing rooms. Belmont walked out hand in hand with UCD while Blessington did the same with the away team Shelbourne. It was a 1st division game with about 400 supporters in attendance. Both Belmont and Blessington got a write-up in the match programme. Everyone watched the first half of the game and at half-time the kids got their big chance to play out on the pitch. We played a 5v5 and a 6v6 simultaneously to ensure everyone played for the limited time we had. They all did great and loved every second of it.
